Position Overview:

Assistant Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the facility's smooth and efficient operation by supervising and coordinating the activities of the facilities team. This front line leader will work closely with the Facilities Manager to maintain a safe and functional environment for staff and guests. They will also train, develop, motivate, and coach team members.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Supervise daily operations of facilities maintenance attendants and site wide janitorial staff (“Clean Team”) including overseeing that staff breaks are taken at assigned times.

• Assign duties, responsibilities, and workstations to employees in accordance with daily check lists and schedules.

• Provide the Facilities Maintenance Manager with feedback on staff performance and evaluations.

• Train staff members in the responsibilities of facilities team members.

• Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning supplies.

• Maintain an inventory of equipment and maintenance tools. Assist manager in reordering supplies as needed.

• Oversee that routines set by the Facilities Manager are being completed and maintain a high standard.

• Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.

• Coordinate and perform maintenance tasks, including repairing fixtures, equipment, and facilities.

• Communicate with Facilities Manager and Manager on duty on daily operations and any support required to ensure safe and effective operations.

• Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met

• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner

• Collaborate with other departments or outside vendors for facility improvements or repairs

• Provide input and recommendations for improvement in facility operations

• Conduct training sessions for team members not limited to but including safety procedures and facility maintenance tasks

Requirements and Qualification:

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or degree in related field preferred.

• 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
